National and international distribution
Torello owns a distribution system that can handle the physical transfer of the finished product of a company up to delivery to the external customer, the end of the distribution channel. This process consists of a set of activities that bring the product from the warehouse to the point of sale or consumption (or to a distribution centre that supplies several points of sale).
These activities consist of the reception and delivery of orders, management, handling of stocks, transport of goods that can be both direct (i.e. carried out by the same means) or indirect, through a transit point, where the materials are divided (from a larger vehicle to multiple smaller vehicles).
The journey from the warehouse to transit points – usually performed with large vehicles – is called primary distribution, while final delivery occurs after the transit points – usually performed with smaller vehicles – is also called secondary distribution or capillary distribution. This route is designed to ensure service to the end customer.
Through this organization, Torello is able to reach throughout the national territory. A large part of the provinces is covered also thanks to the DIF, the network which it co-founded and which enables Torello to add another 26 hubs for the transport and storage of incoming and outgoing cold chain products.
The licensees affiliated with the DIF are organized in a network that operates as a single national operator both for the small and large distribution, ensuring uniformity of the procedures and traceability of the goods. The network’s companies are present on the entire national territory and organized in collection and distribution in each province, with a capillary network providing a punctual and efficient service. The capillary structure of the network guarantees deliveries from the HoReCa channel to Normal Trade and to the LOD in 24/48 hours.
